Nancy A Crone

Nancy A. Crone (nee Swaim), age 89. Beloved wife of 66 years to David. Loving mother of Jennifer Cogan (Michael), Stephen Crone (Mary Kay), and Jodi Roebuck (Edward). Cherished nana of Caroline Cogan (Jeffrey Block), Shannon Coyne (Brendan), Kenny Cogan (Preslie Hirsch, fiancee), Megan Crone, Nicole Crone, Jason Roebuck (Regan Asay, fiancee), Katie Roebuck, and Leah Roebuck. Adored great nana of Connor Block, Andrew Block, and Owen Coyne. Dear sister of the late Tom Swaim (Jeanie, deceased and Betsy). Dearest sister in law of the late Joyce Jinks (Ray, deceased). Special cousin of the late MaryJo Schawe (Richard "Dick", deceased). Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Family was the heart of Nancy’s life. She and Dave, her husband of 66 years, found their greatest joy in spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. No holiday or special occasion was ever missed, and they happily traveled near and far to celebrate family milestones, including attending all seven high school graduations and many college graduations. Some of Nancy’s most treasured memories were made by the water—whether at the ocean or the lake. What began as camping trips with a young family eventually evolved into spending every winter in Florida.

Nancy was a gracious hostess who loved bringing people together. Whether gathering friends for dinner parties or simply enjoying their company, she cherished every opportunity to connect. She was blessed with many dear friends, both near and far, a true testament to her kindness, warmth, and generosity. Whenever someone needed help, Nancy was always the first to offer a hand, often volunteering Dave’s help as well.

After graduating from Springfield City Hospital School of Nursing, she had a long and rewarding career in nursing. Nancy touched countless lives with her compassion and dedication to caring for others. Her generous spirit extended well beyond her profession, through years of community service and volunteer work. She devoted her time to organizations and causes she believed in such as serving as a Red Coat usher at Playhouse Square, Meals on Wheels volunteer, a greeter at SW General Hospice, and an active member of the United Methodist Church of Berea.

Nancy’s life was defined by love, service, and kindness. She touched the hearts of so many, and her legacy will live on in the countless lives she enriched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial service at 11 am on Friday, July 10th, at the United Methodist Church of Berea, 170 Seminary Street, Berea, 44017. Luncheon immediately after in Fellowship Hall.

Final Resting Place Woodvale Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the A. RIPEPI AND SONS' FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY RD., MIDDLEBURG HTS., OH 44130 (WEST OF I-70).
