Ray E. Berry Jr.

Ray E. Berry Jr., (affectionately known to his family as “Sonny”), passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, at the age of 91. Ray was born in Mount Crawford, Virginia on January 6, 1935 to loving parents Ethel & Ray E. Berry, Sr.

Beloved father of Karen Barnes, Kim Berry, Michael (Andrea) Dodrill, Debra Benson, and the late Ray, Dale, Kimberly, and Joel; and five sisters Ethel Jaimedes, Mildred Simpson, Patricia Milstead, Lois Cook and Lou Ella Kaskey; and two brothers, John (Bette) Berry and Thomas Berry. He is survived by brothers Michael (Sarah) and Rollin (Lisa).

He was a cherished grandfather to 14, great grandfather to 14 and great-great grandfather to 4.

Ray was a hard-working man who dedicated his life to his family. He had a great sense of humor, and he loved unconditionally. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards with great friends. He also loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Ray's greatest joy was spending time with his family and dearest friends. He was a one-of-a-kind father and an amazing grandfather. He was the kind of dad and grandfather who always showed up to every concert, every sports game, every big and little moment … he was there.

He was honorable beyond measure and loved by all who were lucky enough to get to know him. Ray is no longer with us but, the bright light that was his life will shine on with us until his youngest great grandchildren grow to his age, with him watching over them.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 26th from 4-7 PM at A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY RD., MIDDLEBURG HTS. (WEST OF I-71). Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside prayers will be held on Friday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Brook Park, OH 44142. Please meet inside Brookpark Road entrance.
