Robert M. Emery

Robert M. Emery passed on October 9, 2026, at the age of 78 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Mary Sandra (nee Williams) for 56 years; devoted father of Mary Laughery (Jim) and David Emery (Tina); cherished grandfather of Matthew Emery, James Laughery, Kevin Emery, Ian Laughery, and Benjamin Emery; dear brother of Barbara (deceased), Philip, Kathleen, Phyllis, Nancy, Susan, Michael, and Edward; loving son of the late Helen and Michael; caring uncle and friend of many.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army before spending his career working for Conrail (later CSX/Norfolk Southern). He held many positions throughout the years, retiring in 2008 as a yardmaster, and was known by all for his unmatched work ethic.

Bob was deeply rooted in his faith, and they found their home at Mary Queen of Peace Parish. A true family man, he was always ready and willing to help anyone in need, blood or not. But nothing meant more to Bob than being a grandpa. His five grandsons were his world, and he spent countless hours playing games, drawing cartoons, introducing them to “good” movies, and showing them how to properly take care of a car. Those who knew him appreciated his quiet, stoic, and strong demeanor, as well as his unique sense of humor and quick wit.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2026 at Mary Queen of Peace Parish, 4423 Pearl Rd., Cleveland. Private burial at a later date.
