He was born in Washington, PA., the son of the late Levi and Irene (Morris) Pickens. Bob is the beloved husband of 60 years to Carol (Walczesky); loving father of Robert Jr. (Robyn) and Edward (Carolyn); cherished grandfather of Collin, Megan, Alex, Matt, Bart, Rory and Benjamin; dear brother of Caroline (Edwin, deceased) Crites, Barbara Ann Stower, Norma Jean (Leon, deceased) Abraham and the late Mary Louise (Bernard, deceased) McKinney and Shirley (Harold, deceased) Friend; adored uncle and friend of many.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, he dedicated his life to hard work and family. After 35 years of loyal service in shipping and receiving at Millcraft Paper Company, he retired and made Las Vegas his home for eight memorable years.
An avid sports enthusiast, he stayed active in local bowling and softball leagues and enjoyed playing basketball. Whether watching a game on TV or trying his luck at the casino, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life.Above all, he loved his family deeply—especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness. His legacy of dedication, warmth, and love lives on in all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4PM-8PM at Craciun Funeral Home, 14925 E. Bagley Rd., Middleburg Heights, OH and on Thursday, July 10th at Bethel Lutheran Church, 7171 Pearl Rd., Middleburg Heights, from 9AM-10AM with a funeral service at 10AM. Private interment services with US Army Honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
