

RODRIGUEZ ROBERTO H. RODRIGUEZ, SR. Of Cleveland Ohio and Debary FL. Passed away at the Hospice of Western Reserve on July 16, 2012. He was born on April 7, 1927 in Moca, PR and is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ramona Rodriguez (Moreno). And two sons, Hector Rodriguez of Plainfield CT, Roberto H. Rodriguez Jr., of St Augustine, FL and their spouses, Diane and Karen; a daughter, Betsie Martinez of North Ridgeville, OH, and her husband Peter. And seven grandchildren, Erica Skubovius, David Rodriguez, Joshua Martinez, Daniel Rodridguez, Alexis Rodriguez, MD, Christina Rodriguez and Evan Rodriguez; and one great grandchild, Elam Rodriguez. Two brothers, Pedro Rodriguez of Pompton Lakes New Jersey and Elizer Rodriguez of Moca, PR. and two sisters, Leonides Rodriguez and the late Ida Luz of Moca. He proudly served the US Army and Air Force from 1945 to 1970. A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico where he earned his BA in 1957, he thereafter attended Case Western Reserve's Masters Program in Library Science and subsequently founded the Project Libros Program for the Cleveland Public Library. Reading, education and community service defined his life after military service. Mr.Rodriguez founded and became the first Executive Director of the Spanish American Committee of Greater Cleveland. He later would join the Social Security Administration where he was a supervisor at the Malden and Springfield MA offices before returning to supervise the Cleveland, OH West 25th Street Office until his second retirement in 1998. A recipient of various community service awards, he retired to Debary, Florida with his loving bride where they enjoyed the frequent visits from family and their beloved grandson David. Calling hours to be held on Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at the A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Road, Middleburg Hts., OH 44130 (West of I-71). Services to be held 11 a.m., Thursday July 19, 2012 at Iglesia de Jesucristo Monte Moriah, 9807 Cudell Ave (W. 98th St.), Cleveland, OH 44102. Interment to be held at Arlington National Cemetery, VA.
