Rosa L. Short, Age 72

Beloved Mother of Lewis (deceased)(wife Mary Sue), Dianna Caraballo, Lonnie and Karen; Loving Grandmother of Luke Short (Jennifer), Jamie, Susan, Elizabeth, Adam Elswick (Stacey), Ericka Guinn (Daniel), Frank Neumann, Jeremiah, Lonnie, Isaac, Rose, Brandon, Tyler, Joseph Strother, Hailey and Lindsey; Great Grandmother of 12.

Rose was a woman with a huge heart. She knew no stranger. Everyone was family to Rose. Children stole her heart from the moment she saw them, and children were her legacy. From teaching her own children, to her many children in her Sunday School classes- everyone loved Sister Rose.

From her funny, corky ways of sharing her love for the Lord, to singing off key, or should we say no key at all- Rose never had to apologize for who she was. Love of family was as important as breathing and she was the glue that held the fabric together.

A heart of gold, full of agape love, a mind of Christ and a life that laid her treasures in heaven. Loved by many and will be missed by millions.

My dear Aunt Rosa, what can I say.
I don’t know anyone who loved people the way you did. Thank you for the love you always showed me and my family. I will never forget you. So glad you are reunited with mom and grandma and grandpa! I love you.

Sis Rose was such a kind and loving woman. She was my son's Sunday School teacher when he was very young. He loved her dearly. She had such a way with people, a large and open heart, and an enduring legacy of cards of encouragement of every sort. You always knew you were in her thoughts. Sis Short will always live in my memory as a true and Godly example of heartfelt hospitality. You will be missed!

Aunt Rose, what can I say? You were my second mom. I loved spending time with you, and all our card playing. How we loved to play canasta and rummy. I'll never forget the time you almost broke my hand trying to rummy the cards. I've been thinking about how I'll miss our phone calls...no one left to call to check on me and see how my day was, there will be no more cards for birthdays or holidays, there will be no more calls on my birthday to sing and wish me Happy Birthday. Oh, how I will miss you. I know you were tired and ready to go. I know you are happy and with your sis and mommy and daddy again. Give my mom and grandparents a hug for me. I love you Aunt Rose.

ROSA LEE was a long time neighbor of mine on W.91 St. and became involved with me in the Marion C. Seltzer PTA. ROSA LEE served several terms as Treasurer of the PTA and volunteered at all the meetings and fundraisers. She never had anything bad to say about anyone and was always smiling. Rest in peace .

I truly loved Sister Short. My greatest memory of her was a card in the mail from her! Whether it was for encouragement or a holiday she always kept mailing them. My heart is broken💔.
