It is with a heavy heart that The Sabol Family is sharing this. Rudolph "Rudy" R. Sabol Jr., age 64, of Middleburg Heights, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Rudolph was born in Berea, OH. Dearly beloved son of Charlotte (Weimer) and the late Rudy R. Sabol Sr.
Loving brother of Tony (Diane) Sabol and Sharon (Dave) Marusa, dearest uncle of Michael J. and Nicole, dear nephew, cousin, friend of many. His brother Tony looked up to him in every way. Rudy was always there to protect his little sister. He was a Gentle Giant and would do anything for anyone. He was a great son, brother, Uncle and neighbor. He graduated from Berea High School in 1976 participating in Football, Basketball, and Track & Field. He was then recruited to play football for The University of Toledo. During his time at Toledo, he found his skills in construction, electrical, and building. After years of hard work, he formed his own company, Smokey Construction, to offer his prideful work to people. We bet many of you have had his handy work in your homes! Rudy dedicated part of his life to helping our parents with their rental properties for years. When his father, Rudy Sr. health was failing he devoted his time to take care of him until his passing 4 years ago. He was also there to help with his mother, Charlotte. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Especially his beloved Browns. He had his seats in the Dawg Pound for over 30 years and was a dedicated Browns Backers Member and life of the tailgate parties on Sunday’s. Even though his health had been failing, he tried his best to make it to a Browns game a few weeks ago, to sit in his seats at Section 118A seats 15 & 16, unfortunately could not make it there. Him being the gentle giant he was, Rudy would care for any cat or kitten that needed a home. They knew if they wandered in his backyard they would be taken care of and get the love they deserved. He hand-picked a kitten from a litter after his dad’s passing to give to his mom. She named him Charlie and he has been a great companion to keep her company ever since. Rudy, we love you and we will miss you dearly! Please tell Papa we miss him. Rest easy my big brother!
Because of how optimistic and joyful Rudy was he would not have wanted a room full of people sad because of him. Instead of a traditional service we will be having a celebration of Rudy’s Life in his honor at a dear friend and Great local restaurant to remember and cherish all the wonderful memories we all have created with him. Karl’s Inn at the Barrister’s 1264 West 3rd. Street Cleveland,Ohio 44113 216-241-4141 November 19th, 2022 12:00 - 4:00pm.
