Terry, my Ford truck brother. 
Although I worked with Terry for a short period of time, our bond was immediate. I remember when they were having their first child, Jennifer.  Terry would put his hands on Jeannieâ€™s belly and in a loving tone sayâ€baaaabyyâ€.  He could not wait to start his family.  His quality for workmanship was surpassed only by the love for his family.  I visited from Florida solo and with my family a few times and we were all welcomed into his home like family.  Terry, you were an outstanding husband, father, brother and friend. You will be missed immensely.  I am sure you are driving your favorite Ford truck in heaven right now.  Miss you bro.

I worked with Terry at continental airlines, and shared many laughs and good conversation.  He was a great guy to do a project or a job with, he was really missed when he retired.  Rest In Peace my friend.

This obit perfectly captures the essence of Terry.  

Terry and I met in 6th grade, if I remember correctly.  He invited me and Gary Snyder over for a sleep-over.  That started a friendship that lasted til today.  Going to Terry's was like going to an amusement park - better even.  Some of my best childhood memories were with him out there.  Earl, Twila, Terry and Jeff lived out in the country on Fitchville-River Road close to the Vermillion River.  Earl was an at-home mechanic with a 3 bay garage and also drove bus for Western Reserve.  Twila had her salon attached to the back of their house, a big old farmhouse. Earl's brother, Uncle Bob, and his family lived across the road with his wife, and kids Bobby (Peapod), and Miriam.  Uncle Bob had a good bit of land that bordered the Vermillion River.

Given that Earl was a mechanic, he had an old Ford (Fairlane, I think) that the boys and I were allowed to drive on the circle track.  It was just a small circle that we could drive round and round, but to us, it was like driving in the Daytona 500.  Next to the circle track, Earl had the carcass of an old bus that Terry and Jeff made into their own clubhouse.  Earl and Uncle Bob got into Tri-Sports and Uncle Bob even made a pretty cool track in the river bottom land behind his house where they hosted an organized Tri-Sport race with spectators, an announcer, and all.  Between races, Terry was in the spotlight as his specialty was riding all the way around the track on only 2 of the 3 wheels of the Tri-Sport (it was the equivalent of doing a wheelie on a motorcycle except the wheel that was in the air was one of the rear wheels).

Later, Terry got a Husquvarna 250 dirtbike and I had my Yamaha 100.  We rode together around their property and Uncle Bob's with Jeff on his 175 Kawasaki.  Next to the Tri-Sport track were steep hills that led to Camplejohn's property.  We made our way from the easiest to the steepest - some that we were unable to completely ride to the top.  I got close once, but got my bike stuck in a tree :).  I remember Kevin Wolfe bringing his tractor and discs over to make us a track of our own around Earl's property.
In addition to riding Tri-Sports and dirt bikes together we had a lot of other fun activities - exploring around creeks and the river and everywhere in-between.  Going swimming at Greene's indoor swimming pool, Laundry with Twila at the laundromat in Norwalk at 4am in the morning (cause you don't have to wait for washers then :)) and eating breakfast at the L&K afterwards, riding in Earl's old classic car, throwing crab apples up in the air at night and watching the bats chase them down to the ground.  One of the funnest was riding our bikes down the roads to visit with neighbors nearby (whose names escape me save for the Bohns).  All the neighbors loved Terry and he loved them.  They knew he was somebody they could count on to help even back then.  One of his neighbors was a champion drag racer (in the Pro-stock class if I remember).  His name was Bobby - can't remember the last name.  Of course, he was a Ford man - as was Terry.  If you have to describe Terry, you better include that.  He never wavered from that as far as I can tell.  I remember going to the races with Terry and we got to hand around in the pits with Bobby and his crew.

After I moved to Norwalk, we didn't see each other as much until Terry started working at the Arco station. I'd stop by the Arco station and hang out with him from time to time.  I was working at Marty's Sohio just down the street from him around that same time.  Here's where I remember one of his famous quotes.  Whenever the owner, Mr. Wolfe, would challenge him in one way or another, Terry's jovial reply would be

To those of us who knew Terry he was a kind and honorable man.  He was a role model to all of us.  Our son was very fortunate to have him as a father n law.  I always enjoyed our talks at family get togethers.  He will be missed by Gail and myself.  Our condolences to the entire family.

Jeanne, I am so sorry to hear about Terry. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Terry was a kind and gentleman that I wished I got to know better. He was knowledgeable about just about anything. My son couldn't have a better father-in-law. Our sympathy go es to the whole family especially to Jeannie.

Terry was truly one of the good guys-Iâ€™m so sorry for the familyâ€™s loss.  It was a true pleasure working and being Terryâ€™s friend at Continental Airlines. RIP
