Theresa (aka Terrie, mom, granny, aunt, sister, wife, cousin, sister-in-law, partner, friend) lived an incredibly full 88 years. She raised/supported 5 children - often working two jobs in those early years. She was a strong, outgoing, independent woman with an exceptional work ethic and an interest in just about everything.
Terrie worked her way up at Ford Motor and retired in management after 30 years. Then the adventures really began! She organized bus trips and gambling junkets; facilitated ethnic luncheons for Tri-C college; studied in secret and surprised her children by proudly graduating with her GED in 2001. She volunteered at Playhouse Square, Henn Mansion, Board of Elections, Cleveland Food Bank. She golfed, she bowled, she played poker and pinochle, she hosted a party for any reason or any occasion. She belonged to a diversified assortment of "clubs" (stock & investment, movie group, 3 wine clubs, red hats, 2 opera groups, New Westsiders, and she especially enjoyed over 40 years of fine food and friendship with her cooking club group). She attended numerous adult education classes each year and loved lectures at the library or colleges related to any variety of topics. She was an avid reader and always had 2 or 3 books going at once. Terrie loved Cleveland and spent countless hours planning outings, museums, luncheons, theatre, happy hour, lectures, dances, tours, dinners with her children, grandchildren and a huge network of friends. She traveled the world extensively throughout her life and especially later with her long-time partner, Joe Babic.
She was a one-of-a-kind, broke-the-mold, fun, thoughtful, loyal, generous person and was loved by anyone who ever met her. May she rest in peace.
Theresa always said, “support the arts or they will disappear.” Some of her favorites were theater, opera, Pops, Museum's (CMA, WRHS, CMNH, IWASM), Cleveland Zoo, Rock HOF, and PBS-WVIZ. In lieu of flowers, please donate to or attend/enjoy one of your favorite arts.
