Trudie was born at St. John's Hospital in Cleveland on August 5, 1960, the third of five children. Before she graduated from Nazareth Academy High School, she was a lover of music, expressed mostly through the piano. Trudie played piano for her church, composed songs, and was selected to play at the White House. One of her greatest loves was her baby grand piano. Later in life she joyfully gave it to a family with three children whose father dreamed of owning such a wonderful instrument.
Trudie cared for those she loved in their time of great medical need. This was especially true for Alex's parents and her brother Henry. Working nearly 5 decades, Trudie was the Vice President and HR Director over 15 companies, with 250 employees under her stead.
Trudie will be missed most for how she loved and touched the hearts of those dear to her, and for how she cared for those who needed her. Of most importance, she invested her life in Jesus, by faith. To Trudie, her faith in Christ was central to her heart, carrying her through many trials and through many hard-fought battles of multiple health issues. She was faithful to the Lord through the end.
Trudie was preceded into Heaven by her brother Henry. She is survived by her husband Alex Gaal, parents Henry and Shirley Reitinger, sisters Mary McDaniel, Katie Heideloff, and her brother Mark Reitinger. Trudie is an aunt to many nephews and one niece.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. in the A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
