

Age 82, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019. Born on November 17, 1937 in Cleveland, he is preceded in death by his parents, Hans George and Anna (nee Hedrich), and sister, Hertha. He is survived by his sister, Anna Fleischer, and nieces Erica Fleischer (Michael Ivancic) and Heidi Sheaffer (James).
A graduate of Parma Senior High School in 1956, he was a life-long fitness enthusiast and an accomplished Olympic weightlifter. He placed third in 1962 US Olympic Trials and was a member of The Ohio State University’s and Los Angeles Police Department's weightlifting teams. Additionally, he served as a Naval Corpsman in the Naval Reserves from 1955-1963.
After graduating from Baldwin-Wallace College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, he entered his career in law enforcement in Cleveland and later relocated to California. He retired after 25 years of service from the Los Angeles Police Department and enjoyed many years of retirement from his home in Carlsbad, CA. He recently relocated back to Ohio to be near family and friends.
