

Agnes Ruth (Brauen) Hinkley, 88 of Middleport, devoted mother of five, friend to many, passed away August 11, 2015, joining the loved ones who have gone on before her. She had been in the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice House.
Born April 5, 1927 she was the daughter of Alfred and Lillian (Haseley) Brauen of Wolcottsville. She was predeceased by her husband Carl E. Hinkley, four brothers Raymond, Richard, Robert, Ralph, a
Daughter-in-law Sue Hinkley and a great granddaughter Saundra Mae Gibbons.
While raising her family she was a Girl Scout leader and worked at the Apple Grove. Later she worked for Monroe Electronics in Lyndonville, retiring after 25 years. She was a very active member of the Hartland United Methodist Church, serving in many various ways.
Agnes is survived by her dear friend of Many years, Gene Brayley and her children Saundra (Late Chuck) Gibbons of AZ., Kent (Dale Merlin) Hinkley of Lockport, Carol (Burdette) Gage of OK, Debby (Late Butch) Merlin of Gasport and Sheila (Marc) Simmons of TX. Grandchildren Kurt Gibbons, Rochelle (Ken) Barnes, Kellie (Dave) Funk, Heather (Steve) Washburn, Scott (Carla) Gage, Tanielle (Chris) Klossner, Tiffannie (Chris) Hill, Jennifer (Larry Perry) Quagliano, VJ (Bobbie) Merlin, Kyle Hinkley, Craig (Tammy) Hinkley and Brian Simmons. She also had 23 great and three great-great grandchildren.
The family will be present Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport. Services will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Cheryl Brown officiating at the Hartland United Methodist Church, 8019 Ridge Rd., Gasport, NY.
Burial will be at Hartland Central Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hartland United Methodist Church or Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
