Albert John Petrocy, age 74 of Washington Township passed away February 2, 2024 at his home. He was born December 18, 1949 in Middletown, the son of Joseph John and Audrey Caroline (Ritter) Petrocy.
John graduated from Monroe High School, Miami University and Xavier University. He retired from Middletown City School after 31 years of teaching and serving as principal. John was a member of many bands, performing with Mafia of Music, Petrocy’s People, Turnstyle, Chequered Past, Encore at Americana, Nuclear Test Project, and the Avalons. He served as Head Drum Major at Monroe High School in 1968.
John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Donna Mahon Petrocy; a son, Joseph W. (wife, Dr. Pamela) Petrocy; grandson, Vladimir Ivan Petrocy; stepson, Brian Thomas Lewis; step grandchildren, Emily Jean Lewis and Joseph Daniel Stanichar; his sister, Carolyn Margaret Rachel “Cam” (husband, Larry) Hammond; niece, Laura (husband, Brandon) Howar; and nephew, Benjamin (wife, Kim) Hammond; the mother of his son, Joan Regensburg; and his dog, Wolfgang.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 5:00 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.
