Cynthia Ann Callahan

Cynthia Ann Callahan, age 53 of Springboro, OH, passed on August 25, 2026. She was born on April 21, 1973, the daughter of John Callahan and Virginia (Taylor) Callahan. Cindy went through a hard battle of health issues before her ALS diagnosis.

Cindy devoted herself to learning and to the work of caring for others, earning her LPN degree and continuing on to obtain her RN degree. Her steady determination and sense of purpose were evident in the way she pursued each next step, including an earlier idea to do school transportation—always thinking practically, always looking for ways to serve.

Away from her responsibilities, Cindy found joy in the quiet satisfaction of puzzles, a passion that reflected her patience and focus. She was also known for her absolute obsession with Dr. Pepper, a small but unmistakable signature of her everyday life. Among the words most associated with her was the familiar reminder, “Take your time but hurry,” a saying that captured her clear-eyed approach to getting things done.

Cindy also spoke openly of her faith, once saying she couldn’t wait to meet Jesus—a hope that remained close to her heart and offered meaning in the way she faced life.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, John Callahan and Virginia (Taylor) Callahan.

Cindy is survived by her four children, Melinda Tolson, Adam Tolson, Bradley Tolson, Cristin Pennington; grandchildren, Karter Tolson, Adalynn Tolson, Luka Tolson; brothers, Johnny Callahan, Nick Callahan; sister, Karen Bowling. She will be missed by the many friends she considered family.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
