

Darla dedicated 33 years of her life to serving the community as a police dispatcher for the Monroe Police Department. She was an avid reader. Her love for reading showed by volunteering at the library to teach others to read. She had a deep love for the mountains, particularly the beauty of Gatlinburg, where she enjoyed many memorable trips. Her fondness for shopping, fishing, dancing, bowling and going to the casino brought her immense happiness. Whether she was enjoying the great outdoors, hitting the dance floor or enjoying the casino, Darla embraced life with enthusiasm.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her three sisters, Deborah Hawkins, Linda Barnett and Carol Crabtree and her beloved dog, Charlie.
Darla is survived by her daughter, Angela Bowling; grandsons, Timothy Bowling Jr. and Justin Bowling; great-granddaughter, Violet Bowling; sisters, Marilyn (Darrell) Whitaker and Bonnie (Karl) Matre; brothers, Bobby (Kristina) Wallace and Allen Meadows; and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM with Dr. Dan Flory officiating.
