My condolences to the Keffer Family. I enjoyed so much being on the Middletown Duck's Unlimited Committee with Don. He was such a fun and hilarious guy. He gave me a lot of guidance, when I took over as their treasurer, when he wanted to retire form that job with DU. He will be missed by the Middletown Duck's Unlimited Gang. Rest in Peace Don!

Where do I begin?? My heart aches for you Phyllis and all Don's family and friends. He was a one of a kind, all around great guy!!! Jim and I met him 20+ years ago when he came to SD to hunt at our place. He and his hunting buddies came every year for the past 20+ years. Last October was the first time he missed in all those years. There was definitely a void.
Over those years we became like family. He loved giving all of us a bad time. We enjoyed the times we spent with Don and Phyllis at their home in FL. What gracious hosts they were!! Thank you Phyllis for accepting his crazy friends!! Even though my name was not Linda Lou, that is what he chose to call me!!!
I was not ready for the call I received from Phyllis this week, but we have to accept it and know that he is pain free and was greeted by his hunting buddies who have gone before him. Rest in peace dear friend!!!

Don was our neighbor for 12 years. He was a great neighbor. We shared a lot of time with Don & Phyllis & always enjoyed being with them.
Don had a good sense of humor & was always helpful when we had a problem with our house. We will miss him very much. He was a true friend.

I will miss Don's calls to ask me questions or just give me a rough time. Really hits hard because I was the last friend to see him. Of course he was giving me a tough time and admitting he was always impatient so why didn't I just "get it over with" and stop explaining things to him. But I always saw through that tough exterior and know he always cared about people and loved his family. My sincere condolences to Phyllis and the entire family.

Phyllis and family so sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was my boss when the kids were small and always made me feel part of the team. One of the good guys!

Don and Phylis were neighbors of ours in Middletown. We shared many Monday morning coffee and conversation with Roger (our) neighbor talking sports, politics, hunting and religion. We loved being neighbors. Always trading goodies (pigs in a blanket) gardening things etc. we loved our time on Babson Ct. largely because Don made us feel so welcome!

Rest In Peace Don until we meet again.
