

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” (Trees) Mehl, age 96 of Liberty Township, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday, August 11th, 2024, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born September 18th, 1927, in Middletown, Ohio the daughter of Charles M. “Sonny” Trees and Grace E. (Anderson) Trees of Monroe, Ohio.
Betty was a graduate of Monroe High School. In addition to being a full-time farmer homemaker, she was employed at LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park and at Elder-Beerman Department Store for over 20 years. She was a long-term member of the One Community Church (Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church) in Monroe, Ohio. Betty enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, mowing grass, playing cards, and working jigsaw puzzles. Betty had an extensive collection of FROGs. FROG is an acronym for “Forever Rely On GOD”.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Linda (husband Sam) Neff; sons, Ronald “Ron” Mehl of West Carrollton, and Timothy “Tim” Mehl of Liberty Township; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob M. Mehl of 51 years; her parents; one brother, Charles L. Trees; a daughter, Deborah L. (Mehl) Pagenkopf of Pratt, KS; and a grandson, “baby Jake”.
A private immediate family burial service will be held at the grave site with a public memorial service to be held at a date to be announced.
