Frederick Raymond Turner, age 66 of Middletown, passed away February 16, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1953 in Bluefield, West Virginia the son of Robert L. and Betty Rae (Norris) Barnhart. Fred retired from Armco Steel after 34 years of service as a crane operator. He was a member of Jefferson Masonic Lodge, Pot Belly Pigs motorcycle club, Middletown Moose 501 and Oriole lodges, and Zion Lutheran Church. Fred was an endurance motorcycle rider and owned Owl Cycle Works. He raced in The Blackwater motorcycle race and placed in several races. Fred had a pilot’s license and was a sky diver. He loved to travel, especially to Jamaica. Fred had a really big, soft heart.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Hensley Turner; his mother, Betty Rae Barnhart; brother, Bill (wife, Kathy) Barnhart; sisters, Lorie (husband, Barry) Blankenship, Joyce (husband, Gene) Perry, Diane Hawkins; sister-in-law, Joni Barnhart. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Barnhart and brother, Lyle Barnhart.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Saturday at the Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin, Ohio.
