

Jessie Irene (Young) Sommers, 83, of Middletown, Ohio, was received into Heaven on May 30, 2025, at Kettering Health Hospital in Miamisburg. She was born in East St. Louis, Illinois to Howard and Virginia (Butler) Young on December 15, 1941.
Jessie was a graduate of Carlisle (Ohio) High School. One of her early jobs that she enjoyed was as operator of the cotton candy machine at the Rink's snack bar. She worked for more than 30 years as a clerk and manager at United Dairy Farmers. Raised in the Nazarene Church, she was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church before becoming a charter member of New Hope Lutheran Church. Among the many joys of her life were cooking, taking care of her cats and visiting thrift stores.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ric Young; and her first husband, Robert Piersall. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Keith Sommers; daughters, Claudia (Marty) Watkins and Paula (Wes) Trent; granddaughters, April Trent and Brittany (James) Morton; grandsons, Martin (Meg) Watkins, Luke (Jessie) Watkins, Ben (Sarah) Watkins, Jon (Moriah) Watkins; great-grandchildren, Maddox, Ivy, Pearl, Greenlie, Leland, Judah, Morgan, Ruby, Aeris, Jameson, Henry and Arthur; brothers, Toby (Linda) Young, Tony (Cheri) Young, Jon (Cheryl) Young; sister, Bettie (Kenny) Bennett and her favorite cat, Cupcake.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Trenton Gracepointe Church of the Nazarene, 220 N. Miami Street, Trenton, Ohio. Grandson Luke will be Officiant. Visitation will be 90 minutes prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
