John Paul Moore

John was born on February 28, 1947, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Calloway Moore and Minnie (Plowman) Skeen. Throughout his life, he was known as a man of faith, strong values, and unwavering love for his family. He believed in working hard, treating others with kindness and respect, and living a life guided by his faith. Those who knew John will remember his quiet strength, generous heart, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.

John is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Moore; his daughters, Amanda "Mandy" (Moore) Haddix and her husband, Branden, and Angela (Moore) Woodward (Nick). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Gary (wife Ajhea), Danielle (JD), Johnna, Brixden, and Bexli. He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Kylee, Kasyn, Briella, Bronx, Baker, Charlie, Jaiden, Carsiyn, and Carmelo, each of whom brought him great joy.

He is also survived by his brother, Danny Moore, and his wife, Anita, and his sister, Rosemary Hannum, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was also blessed with a bonus son and daughter who held a very special place in his heart. Luke and Andrea Clifford whom he loved as his own, and his bonus grandchildren, Riley, Gavin and Lylah.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Moore and Mike Whitt.

John's greatest legacy is the love he gave his family and the faith that carried him throughout his life. He leaves behind countless memories, valuable life lessons, and an example of integrity, compassion, and devotion that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be 5 PM-6:30 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044. A short memorial service will be from 6:30 PM-7 PM at the funeral home.

In the meantime, those who knew and loved him are encouraged to remember him by sharing stories, extending kindness to others, and holding their loved ones close—just as John would have wanted.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice Care of Middletown, specifically the team that cared for John until the end.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that his faith has become sight and that he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord. His love, guidance, and legacy will remain in our hearts forever.
