Norma Jean Wolke-Deem, age 71, born in Hamilton, Ohio July 20, 1949 transitioned from this world on October 17, 2020 at her home in Middletown, Ohio with her family. Norma Jean attended Fairfield High School where she was the school Majorette and a cheerleader. She grew up on what is called The Knob in Hamilton, Ohio.
Norma Jean married Donald Deem July 1, 1967 and had four children, Deana, Jeff, James, and Laura then five beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Erica, Morgan, Dakota, and Evelyn. Norma was preceded in death by her father and mother, Stanley Victor and Ruth Harding-Wolke; sister, Sandra Wolke-Wagers; brothers, Jim(Judy) and Bill Huff, and grandchildren, Megan, Jonathan, Dustin, and Melanie, and her mother in law, Alta Deem. Norma has beloved nephews and nieces, Brian Hayes and Jonathan Wagers, Pam, Penny, and Terry Huff, and Aunt Jean Harding and cousins, Jeress, Landis, and Karen Harding, Debra Seals, and many others of beloved Big Hill, Berea, Kentucky. Norma cherished her extended families and is survived by her brother in law, Al "Jabo" Deem and Wilma Brewer as well as cousins, nephews, nieces, and countless others.
Norma was a respected cake decorator at Marsh Market in Franklin for many years before retiring at Kroger Deli, Springboro. She spent her free time coaching youth soccer and was a championship coach. For years she was Reverend Clifford Hutchinson's secretary for The Sunshine Evangelistic Association and volunteered taking prayer and song requests for musicians until he retired. Norma also enjoyed volunteering Christian concerts and for Compassion International. Norma loved reading, dancing, video games, & roller coasters. She was a cheerful, spiritual, gentle soul whose smile lit up a room. Norma began her fight against cancer in 2018 then since 2019 bravely fought inoperable melanoma brain cancer for nearly a year and a half. She will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be 12-2 pm, Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH. Funeral Services will begin at 2 pm with Reverend Brian Brewer and Minister Johnny Moore officiating with a procession following to Woodside Cemetery.
