Robert "Harvey" Bowling, age 58, passed away on July 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous 14-year battle with cancer. He was born on September 8, 1967, in Middletown, OH, the son of Warnie "JR" Bowling and Cora Bell (Landsaw) Bowling.
Harvey will be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle—someone whose steady devotion to family was matched by a gift for bringing people together. With a warm, social spirit and an easy way of making others feel included, he was often the one who set the tone in a room, turning ordinary moments into shared laughter and conversation.
A devoted sports fan, Harvey followed UK Basketball with pride and enthusiasm, and he also cheered faithfully for the Dallas Cowboys and The Ohio State Buckeyes Football.
Whether watching a game or talking about one, he carried the same spirited energy that made time with him feel lively and memorable.
Harvey also had a special way of connecting with people: he seemed to have a nickname for everyone, offered with affection and good humor, and it became one of the many small ways he made those around him feel seen. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Harvey is preceded in death by his father, Warnie "JR" Bowling; mother-in-law, Norma Jean Herald; father-in-law, AJ Herald; niece, Avery Wood; grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kimberly Bowling; mother, Cora Bell Bowling; siblings, Tim (Kristy) Bowling, Trish (Jerry) Inabnitt, Cristi Bowling, Misti Bowling, Stevie Bowling; sister-in-law, Lisa (Steve) Wood, Alexa (Bryan) Cantrell; a host of nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be 11 AM-1 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Ken Angel officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.
