

Roy Bennett, aged 93, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on June 24, 1932, in Hinton, West Virginia, he was the son of Roy N. and Lonnie (Grimmett) Bennett.
Roy dedicated 32 years as a Craftsman Engraver at Smurfit Graphic Arts in Middletown, serving from 1961 until his retirement in 1993. Beyond his professional life, he established Stoney Meadows Fishing Lake in 1974, a place where he not only built friendships but also extended kindness and support to many. Roy was a member of the Home Avenue First Church of God in Trenton. Remembered for his warmth and generosity, Roy’s welcoming spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
Family was always Roy’s greatest priority, and he enjoyed sharing this sentiment with everyone he met. He is survived by his five children—Cindy (Wes) Lycan, Regina (Terry) McCoy, Melissa (Bill) Sorrell, Joe (April) Bennett, and Beth (Shawn) Stidham—as well as ten grandchildren: Bobby Sproul, Shane (Tasha) Sproul, Katie (Austin) Burt, Joey Bennett, Kelly Jackson, Emilee Wall, TJ (Ashley) McCoy, Hope (Christina) Erpelding, Ashley (Gabe) Arrowood and Samantha (Nic) Wilson. Roy is also fondly remembered by his fourteen great-grandchildren, special niece Pam (Danny) Manley and his sister, Irene Tincher.
Roy was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Freda Bennett, his great-grandson Joseph Gillis, and siblings: Madeline Meadows, Lorene Collins, Josie Farley, Bill Fox, Lucille Chewning, Helen Hall, Ashley Bennett, and Glenna Parker.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Breitenbach-Anderson Funeral Home, 517 S. Sutphin St., Middletown. The funeral service will follow immediately, and burial will be held at Butler County Memorial Park.
