Shirley Eileen Mynhier, born April 28, 1935 in Hamilton, Ohio, passed into God’s loving arms on September 23, 2026. Daughter of Theodore and Pearl (Wehr) Bulow, Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Ed, in 1957 and they spent 69 love-filled years together. Shirley and Ed were a Miami Merger and were a proud part of 5 generations of family who graduated from Miami University.
Ed and Shirley moved across the country while he served in the Marine Corps, then they settled in Middletown where they raised their children, Tricia and Jim. Shirley loved teaching kindergarten at Madison School District and when she retired, she and Ed moved to their houseboat on Lake Cumberland and then moved to Spring Hill, FL before returning to Mt Pleasant in Monroe. Shirley made dear friends wherever she lived.
Shirley loved all sports, whether cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren or watching her favorite teams on TV. She played golf throughout her life, playing her last round at age 90. Early in life, she developed a passion for dance, which led to a lifelong interest in musical shows. Shirley and Ed loved to travel the states and world, with favorites being Africa, Australia and China. Shirley was a faithful attender of Bible studies and church throughout her life and firmly believed in God’s promise of eternal life.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Mick Neeley.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Edward Mynhier, daughter Tricia Neeley, son Jim (Beth) Mynhier. Grandchildren: Brad (Tracy) Neeley, Jeff (Mandy) Neeley, JD (Amy) Mynhier, Sarah (Ryan Cox) Mynhier. Great grandchildren: Matt, Meghan, Cameron and Charles Neeley, James and Milo Mynhier, Alexandra Cox and great great grandchild Addie Neeley. Sister Patty Hinshaw of Carmel IN and sister-in-law Sue (Mynhier) Caron of Middletown. All of whom she loved fiercely. Beyond all Shirley’s interests, nothing meant more to her than her faith and her extended family. She will be missed by all.
