Shirley provided child care in her home as she raised her son and helped raise all of the neighborhood children. She was an aunt, mother, and grandmother to anyone that stepped foot in her house; even through her later years as she and her son took in several foster children. She offered guidance with a firm hand and soft heart to all. Many turned to Shirley as a rock for guidance and support throughout life’s challenges and she would always be there, day or night. She was a selfless person who would drop whatever she was doing and go to great lengths to help those she loved. She was a perfect example of a selfless, God loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Shirley will be deeply missed by so many that she touched through her 78 years of meaningful life.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Okey A. “Red” Tracy; brother, Ralph Nelson Collins; stepson, Lloyd Tracy; nephew, Jerry Collins and niece, Peggy Jo Adkins.
