

Terry began his career in public service as a special deputy for the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, then served as a police officer for Lemon Township. He went on to dedicate 25 years to the Middletown Police Department before retiring. Even after retirement, Terry continued to serve others through his work with Butler County Probation, reflecting a lifelong devotion to community and accountability.
Beyond his work, Terry found lasting enjoyment in the outdoors. He valued time spent hunting and fishing, and he appreciated the calm and renewal that came with being outside. He also enjoyed golf, embracing the game’s quiet challenges and unhurried moments.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Karen (Barr) Alfrey; and second wife of 10 years, Mary Lou Alfrey.
Terry is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Timothy) Macy; son, Chris (Christa) Alfrey; grandchildren, Cortney (Jeremy) Greth, Connor Macy, Carter Macy, Jackson Alfrey, Braden Alfrey, Rylie Alfrey, Gavin Alfrey; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kale, Evan, Ian, Kali.
Visitation will be 6 PM to 7 PM on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM.
