William Lee Crowe

William "Bill" Lee Crowe, age 76 of Middletown, passed away Friday, May 1, 2020 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born November 16, 1943 in Middletown, the son of Ceasar and Laura Mae (Rogers) Crowe.

Bill retired from Armco Steel after working for 30 years. He enjoyed his retirement years by working for Meals on Wheels and following his favorite hometown sports teams, Kentucky Basketball, Ohio State Football and Cincinnati Bengals and Reds.

Bill was inducted to the Middletown Middie Hall of Fame in 2005 for his athletic accomplishments in football, basketball and baseball. He attended Ball State University where he received full scholarships for both football and basketball and walked on as a starting member of their baseball team.

Bill was a well-respected and long time member of the Orioles Nest Social Club and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Anna Louise Crowe; daughters, Julie (husband, Rodney) Muterspaw and Jodie (husband, Gary) Gabbard; step-daughter, Jeanie Sester; five grandchildren, Lauren, Matt, Maddie, Garrett and Tyler; two great-grandchildren Lainey and Lilly; and brothers, Larry (wife, Beverly) Abner and Tom Crowe. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Vivian and Virginia.

Funeral services will be at 11am, Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin St., Middletown, OH. Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery.
