A. C. was a proud veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career as a welder and retired as a supervisor with Permian Corporation. He was a man who took great pride in his work, his family, and in caring for the things around him.
On June 16, 1956, A. C. married the love of his life, Maria Montez Diaz. Together, they shared 71 years of marriage filled with love, faith, family, and countless memories. Their devotion to one another was an example of a lifelong commitment rooted in love and faith.
A. C. was a devoted Catholic and a lifetime parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Shrine. His faith was an important part of his life, and he faithfully served his church as a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society and generously volunteered his time to the parish. His quiet service and dedication touched the lives of many.
Outside of work and church, A. C. found joy in working with his hands. He loved home improvement projects, yard work, and welding. Whether he was repairing something, improving his home, tending to the yard, or lending a helping hand, he found purpose in being useful and taking care of the people and places he loved.
A. C. will be deeply missed by his wife, Maria Diaz; his son, Daniel Diaz and wife Cecilia; his daughter, Cindy Diaz Bordayo and husband Jesse; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victoria and Abelino Diaz; five brothers; and five sisters.
A. C. leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, hard work, service, and love. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, faithful servant of God, and a man whose hands were always willing to help. His family takes comfort in knowing that his life was one of love and purpose, and that his memory will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Ellis Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 31, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Shrine, followed by a graveside committal at Fairview Cemetery.
May A. C. rest in the eternal peace of Christ, surrounded by the love of the Lord whom he faithfully served and the family he cherished so deeply.
