Aimee met her beloved Lorenzo in 1944 when he was serving in the US Army in WWII and was part of the liberation of France from German occupation. They married on April 25, 1945 and began their life together in Aix en Provence. In 1948 she and firstborn son immigrated to the US to join Lorenzo and grow their family in Midland, Texas.
Aimee was a talented artist and was a member of the Palette Club for many years. Her paintings have been displayed in banks and doctors' offices around the city. She was a faithful Catholic and member of St. Ann's parish. Even when her health prevented her from active participation at church, she was devout in her daily prayers until her death.
Aimee worked many years for MISD's cafeteria services. She began her career as a cook and by her retirement she was supervising multiple campus cafeterias.
Aimee was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Sanchez, Sr., her mother, Alice Bourgue Bottasso; her father, Louis Bottasso, and her sister Ginette Borghino.
She is survived by; sons, Andre Sanchez (Claudia), Louis Sanchez (Pam) and Lorenzo Sanchez, Jr. (Shannon); grandchildren, Michelle Garcia (Willie), Amber Cooke, Jennifer Shannon (Mike), Louis Sanchez, Jr. (Casey), Lauren Wade (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Alex, Chris, Lindsey, Nicholas, Taylor, Michael, Bailey, Matthew, Madilyn, Layla, Rachel, Anson, Archer & Chloe and great-great-grandchildren, Shaddix, Greyson & Zaya. She also leaves behind many relatives in France.
Visitation will be held at Ellis Funeral home on Sunday evening, April 15, 2018 from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018, at St. Ann's Catholic Church at 10:00 am.
