

Alva Conner Bryan, 89, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Alva was born on October 1, 1923 in Douglas, Wyoming to Tex and Maude “Mickey” Conner. She was raised in Lance Creek, Wyoming. Alva worked as a secretary for the City of Albuquerque Police Department. Alva was a member of the Alamo Heights Baptist Church where she also worked in the nursery for 17 years. She was active in the Midland Christian Women’s Connection.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tex and Mickey Conner; grandsons, Timmy Robison and Christopher Dooley; and brother, Bud Conner.
Alva is survived by daughters, Mary Alford of Odessa, Carol Franklin and husband Harold of Midland; son, Lawrence Smith and wife Jackie of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Scott Kraemer and wife Tricia of Midland, Nanette Dooley of Midland, Zach Alford of Russell, KS, Robby Robinson and Wife Ila of San Angelo, TX, Curtis Alford and wife Manda of Colorado City, TX, Dusty Smith, Heather Smith, both of Albuquerque, and Aron Smith of Los Angeles, CA; brothers, John Conner and wife Wilma of Glenrock, WY and Roy J. Conner and wife Rette of Payallup, WA; many nieces and nephews; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29 from 5-7pm at Ellis Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 30th at Alamo Heights Baptist Church with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
