

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Herman Lester Hooper. They were married on August 2nd, 1968 in Odessa, Texas in the home of family friends.
Her burial service will be held at the Crane Memorial Cemetery on December 23rd, 2016 at 11:00 am. Ellis Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
Bettie was born in Hargill, Texas to Joseph Edgar Reeves and Flo Dell Keyes Reeves on April 25, 1931. She worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for twenty years and retired from AT&T. She spent the next twenty years quietly improving the lives of many single women in Midland and Odessa, Texas by providing financial guidance and support including housing for single women with children and lower income single women with elderly parents.
Bettie was energetically active in Square Dancing and Clogging exhibitions in Texas, Nevada and many places around the world, participating with her husband, Herman. Bettie was known to be a friend to all and always had time to inspire and encourage others in the art of Square Dancing and Clogging.
Bettie is preceded in death by her daughter, Fran Hooper; parents, Joseph Edgar Reeves and Flo Dell Keyes; three sisters Nora Reeves Williams of Odessa, Texas, Judie Reeves Parsley of Conway Arkansas, Lovella Reeves Dawhaniuk of Portland, Oregon and brother Joseph M. Reeves of Goldendale, Washington.
Bettie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Herman Lester Hooper; sister Maureen Reeves Burnett of Alamagordo, New Mexico; one brother, Raymond Reeves of Nampa, Idaho; daughter Pamela Hooper King and son in law Johnny King; son Douglas Hastey and daughter in law Janis R. Hastey; grandchildren, Shane King; Michelle King; Matthew Hastey; Jeremiah White and three great-grandchildren and a very large number of nieces and nephews.
