Billie ( Char) Womack passed away at her home of 51 years on April 13, 2022 at the age of 94. She was born on May 2, 1927 in Strawn, TX to William Rhea Gerhard and Lucile Sloan. Char grew up in Mt. Pleasant, TX where her dad ran the town movie theater.
After graduating high school, Char attended college at Texas Women's University in Denton and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business. She then went to work for Magnolia Petroleum in Abeline, TX where she met her husband Bill Womack. They were married in 1952 in Ft. Worth, Tx and lived in Abilene. They continued their family journey and moved to Midland, Ft. Smith, AR, Oklahoma City, and moved back to Midland in 1971. Char worked as a secretary and later worked at the Bride Shop, the Blue Gem, and Ginny's collection where she made many life-long friendships.
Char's greatest joy was in caring for her family. Her entire world was her family, and she would sacrifice anything in support of them. She was the greatest example of unconditional love. If you knew her, you loved her, and she loved you. Char loved genuinely! Her presence and values built a strong family.
Char is survived by her husband Bill of 69 1/2 years, son Rhea Womack of Valley Glen, CA, daughter and son-in-law Lori and Jim Granbery of Gardendale, Tx, daughter-in-heart Cindy Bledsoe of Midland, Grandchildren Kristin Davis and husband Chris of Gardendale, Austin Bryant of Bangor, WA, Hollyn Hensley and husband Dylan of North Richland Hills, Tx and great- grandchildren, Miranda, Char, William and Stevie.
