Billy Marie Dressler, age 92, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Manor Park, a Nursing Home in Midland Texas. She was born on December 2, 1926 in Sweetwater Texas to Homer and Ollie Young.
Billy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilmoth Manley (Beau) Dressler, and her sister Dorothy Jobe.
She married her husband Wilmoth on April 5, 1947 in Sweetwater. They later moved to Midland where she lived for most of her life. She is survived by her two sons, Joe Dressler of Mustang Oklahoma and David Dressler of Midland. In Midland she was first employed by an oil company called Cities Service. Later she worked for the Midland County Welfare office. She returned to once again work for Cities Service which eventually became known as Occidental Petroleum. She was a member of the North A Church of Christ.
She enjoyed traveling and with her husband and family would frequently visit relatives in Sweetwater. She was fond of playing the organ and playing card games with her friends at Manor Park. She was a generous and very loving person who was loved by all of us and she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her two sons she is survived by her grandchildren Joseph Dressler, Morgan Dressler, and Jordan Dressler all of Mustang, OK. Nieces Barbara Bowen of Bertram, TX, Ruth Margaret Parks of Mount Pleasant, TX, Vanesa Barber of Fargo, ND, and Durlene Butler of Midlothian, TX. Nephews Tommy Dressler of Dallas, TX, Mack Dressler of Mesquite, TX, and Michael Jobe of Midland, TX.
A Visitation will be at Ellis Funeral Home the day before on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 1 PM, at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Highway, Midland, Texas 79701. After which she will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery.
