Billy Jess Owens

Bill graduated from midland high school and continued on to Sol Ross University. He married Lyndia Wallace on August 17, 1968 and they were married for 26 years.

Bill worked for Sun Oil for 15 years and after moving to Midland in 1988 he worked for Stanley Smith Security for 8 years.

Bill is preceded in death by Jess Owens –father; Virgie Owens –mother; Lyndia Owens –wife; Bobby Owens - Brother and Gary Owens -brother.

Billy is survived by two daughters, Stacey Mayo of Hermleigh, Texas and LeeAnn Gordon of Midland, Texas; one son, Steven Owens of Midland, Texas; three grandsons: Brandon Robbins of Trinidad, Colorado, Nathan Mayo of Hermleigh, Texas and Owen Gordon of Midland, Texas; two granddaughters: Meagen Robbins of Snyder, Texas and CJ Johnston of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by one brother, Jim Owens; one sister, Betty Jo Trice, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held in his honor at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel.
