Brian Schwamkrug

Brian Schwamkrug, 76, of Midland passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Brian was born on September 14, 1935 to Erhardt Helmuth Schwamkrug and Lucilla Martha Reeh Schwamkrug in Edinburg, Texas. He graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio, Texas. He married the love of his life, Marilyn Terry Mason on July 24, 1966 in Abilene, Texas. Together, they moved to Midland in 1975. Brian loved fishing and creating wood carving sculptures of Texas native birds and fish.

Brian is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Marilyn Schwamkrug of Midland; his son, Kyle Schwamkrug of Austin; his daughter, Lisa Schwamkrug, and husband, Nigel Holloway of Dallas, Texas; his brother, Keith Schwamkrug and wife, Susan of Sunnyvale, California and their children Lydia and Alison.

A funeral service is planned for Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home of Midland. Condolences may be made at: www.ellisfunerals.com.
