

Charles Alvin Trauber was born December 30, 1931, in Midland, TX, to Charles Alvin Traughber and Vivian Lackey. He graduated from Midland High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy, proudly serving aboard the USS Princeton during the Korean War. He was a dedicated veteran and was rarely seen without his cherished Korea Veteran hat. Charles had a deep love for the sea, and he enjoyed scuba diving whenever the opportunity arose.
After his service in the Navy, Charles began a successful career as a plumber, pipefitter, and welder, where he honed his skills and built a reputation for his hard work and expertise. After retiring, he pursued an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Midland College.
Charles married his love, Betty Parr Trauber, in Midland, TX, and together they raised five children: Beverly, Cynthia, Marla Kay, Angela, and Charles. He was also deeply devoted to his beloved dog, Tinkerbell, who was a faithful companion throughout his life.
Charles is survived by his wife Betty Trauber of Georgetown, TX; his five children Beverly Miles of Midland, TX, Cynthia Logan (Mark) of Lynchburg, TN, Marla Kay Fish of Panama City, FL, Angela Chesnut of Georgetown, TX, and Charles Parr Trauber (Keely) of Lubbock, TX; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Vivian Lackey and Charles Alvin Traughber, and two grandchildren, Aiden and Addelynn Trauber.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Resthaven Memorial Park at 1:00 pm.
