Cleo was born in Reagan, Texas, Falls County, to Bennie Brown and Rosie West.
Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Vernell Cooks Sr.; son, Vernell Cooks Jr.; three sisters, Helen Cooks, Rosie Jefferson, and Curly Jefferson.
Cleo is survived by seven daughters Cleo Cunningham and husband Arthur, Leola Clater and husband Donald, Patricia Fitts and husband Junior, Vera Cooks and husband Michael, Vergie Cadena and husband RIgo, Wennell Green, and Birdie Cooks; two sons, Willie Cooks and Robert Cooks, all from Midland, Texas. Her family legacy includes thirty-three grandchildren, sixty-six great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Hollowell United Methodist Church, with Pastor Wendell Smith officiating. Burial will follow at West Texas Memorial Park.
