Darthy Carole Moore was born in Fulton, MS on January 22, 1942 to the late Floyd L. and Allie Mae Moore. She attended Fulton schools where she won the Beauty Queen title of Junior Miss Fulton in 1957. She graduated from Itawamba High School in 1959. Before beginning her senior year of high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Charles F. (Frank) Dulaney on August 23, 1958.
Ms. Dot was employed primarily as an executive administrative assistant throughout her career years; changing positions as she and Frank relocated with his corporate promotions. She worked for a law firm in Tennessee while simultaneously raising 3 sons, 1 daughter and played the piano for local church services. She then packed up and moved the entire brood to Texas where she assisted the VP of a savings & loan, finally becoming assistant to the city’s fire chief while she also served as the head football/cheerleader booster mom. During those years, every weekend was spent engaged with 3 boys playing football and 1 girl who required uniforms sewn by mom to cheer for them. More moves came: to California then back to Texas. The kids grew and so many tasks that had once been chores of necessity blossomed into passionate hobbies as Aunt Dot/Ms Dot became “Granny”.
