A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Midland.
Doak is peacefully with his Lord Jesus. The Ivy family is grateful to the Heavenly Father for gracing this earth with an amazing man to lead, love unconditionally, and demonstrate what it means to seek and follow the Lord with his whole heart. He was an example of humility, integrity, and servanthood with selfless boundaries. He was the rock of his family because he knew that his Rock was Jesus Christ. He was a genuine, hard working, loyal follower of Jesus. He loved his family, his church, his dog, RVing in the mountains, Rockhounds baseball, and his Savior God. He was greatly loved by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Ivy of Midland.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy Ivy, formerly of Midland; his wife of 46 years, Karen Hicks Ivy of Midland; his daughter and son-in-law Trena (Ivy) and Jim Mroczko of Nakuru, Kenya; son and daughter-in-law Kenan and Karen Ivy of Midland, and grandchildren, Will Ivy of Midland, Texas, Julia and Josie Mroczko of Nakuru, Kenya, Jeffrey Mroczko, and Ethan and Kacie Mroczko Andrews of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by his younger sister and brother-in-law Pam and Ron McCormick of Brownwood, Texas; younger brother and sister-in-law Pharris and Nicole Ivy of Midland, and numerous and beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to His Cherished Ones International Ministry with designation “Papa’s Place.” Gifts can be given online at www.hischerishedones.org or mailed to HCO Kenya, 11307 Travelers Way Circle, Houston, TX 77065.
