DeEtta Mackey Wilson

DeEtta (Dee) Wilson passed away in her home on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at the age of 46. Dee was born on June 7, 1964 in Sonora Texas to Ruth Pollei and Jimmy Mackey. She is survived by her husband Jimmy of Midland; sons Joshua Wilson and Ethan Wilson, both of Midland, mother Ruth Pollei and husband Jay Pollei of Midland; father Jimmy Mackey and wife Georgia Mackey of Midland; sister Diana Barnes and husband Lynn Barnes of Midland; brother Don Mackey and wife Jennifer Mackey of Midland; nephews Joseph and Matthew Mackey and niece Kaitlyn Mackey; granddaughter Alexis Wilson of Midland. One step-sister and five step-brothers and many friends and loved ones.

Dee loved her family passionately. She was very faithful to Women’s Ministries at Calvary Assembly of God church, where she could be found most Tuesdays making quilts or just having fellowship with the ladies who loved her and her mischievous spirit. Even on the Tuesday before her death, she joined with her mom and her sister in making quilts to be used in the Family Promise Ministry to the homeless of Midland. Dee also enjoyed fishing, camping, and photo albums, target shooting and card games.

After many years of battling diabetes, Dee slipped away to the arms of the Lord. She leaves a very big hole in our hearts and will be sorely missed.
