Donna was born on April 9, 1969, in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Jacqueline Kaye Mortashed Broadway and Richard Carroll Broadway. She attended Midland College and Odessa College while working and waiting tables to get her degree. Eventually Donna would get her master’s degree from the University of Texas Permian Basin Majoring in Sociology and Mental Health. She worked at PermiaCare for the past three years as a supervisor. Donna enjoyed taking her boat out for rides, going fishing, and having a BBQ with family and friends. She loved people and did not care about your social status; whether you were homeless or rich, it did not matter to her she only cared if you were a good person or not. Donna had numerous friends who adored her and she loved them as well.
Donna enjoyed taking care of her mother Jacqueline who she would go shopping with at secondhand stores. Like her mother, she shared a passion for music as she played the piano and her mother enjoyed playing the guitar. As for her only child, Nicolas, they enjoyed traveling together around the states and the world. Donna and Nicolas lived in the Bahamas for five years and would often go back and visit family and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Richard Carroll Broadway.
Survivors include her companion, Tony Wooten; her son, Nicolas Blade Ortega Ashmore; her mother, Jacqueline Broadway and her brother, Douglass Earl Broadway all of Midland and numerous other family members and friends.
A "Celebration of Life" Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, at Ellis-Resthaven Funeral Home in Midland, Texas.
