Dorothea Roberts passed away peacefully at home at the age of 84 on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was married to Bobby Fox and they had one daughter, Teresa Murphy. On February 16, 2013, Dorothea married Robert Roy Roberts in Midland, Texas where they resided for 11 years before moving to Denton, Texas in February, 2024.
Dorothea was born in Columbus, Texas on May 22, 1940. She was a hairdresser for many years in Midland and enjoyed working for her clients until she retired in 2013.
Dorothea is survived by her husband, Robert Roy Roberts of Denton, Texas; her granddaughter, Amanda McCourt of Midland, Texas and her three great grandchildren, Alex Munda, Khloe Munda, and Hazen Munda; her grandson, Quinton McCourt, of Port Aransas, Texas; two sisters, Viola Meyer of Columbus, Texas and Laverne Phelan of Boquechitto, Mississippi; brothers, George Prihoda of Ganado, Texas, Ernest Prihoda, Larry Janak and Norris Janak, all of Columbus, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Murphy; grandson, Shawn Murphy; and her brother, Joe Janak.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in the chapel at Ellis Funeral Home. Graveside interment will be held immediately following the service at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothea’s honor to Arcy Hospice, 700 Parker Square, Suite 105, Flower Mound, Texas.
