Dorothy Holt

Dorothy was born in Heath Arkansas, August 11, 1918 to Tom and Bessie Lela Yarbro.

She graduated from high school in Carrizozo, NM and attended commercial college in Albuquerque NM. She received a nursing degree at Thomason General Hospital in El Paso, Texas

Dorothy was married to Dennis Holt in Estancia NM on December 17, 1937 and remained married for 66 years.

Dorothy worked as a nurse in El Paso TX for many years and retired at age 70 to move to Lubbock with her husband.

Dorothy loved to travel. She traveled the world with her husband on many tours and cruises.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ

She was preceded in death by husband Dennis and three siblings, sister Fay McLain, sister Bessie Lou Paxton and brother Joe Yarbro.

She is survived by one son Eddie and wife Ann of Midland, sister- in law Micaela Yarbro of Tucson AZ, 3 grandchildren: Douglas Holt and Indalita of McKinney, Brenda Champion and Rocky of Abilene, Cheryl Oliver and Scott of Perth Australia, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews .

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral home 5740 W 19th St, Lubbock, Tx from 2 to 4PM on March 22. Burial will be at a later date at Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock TX.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Saddleridge Lodge where she lived for 5 years, the staff at Senior Care for the rehabilitation care they provided and the staff at Midland Memorial Hospital for special care the provided while she was in Midland.
