Dorothy "Dottie" Marlowe

Dorothy “Dottie” Marlowe, 74, of Midland, passed away on April 5, 2011 with her family by her side.

Dorothy was born January 10, 1937 and raised in Martinsville, VA; she also attended school’s there as well. She married the love of her life Billy Gene Marlowe on April 1, 1956 in Martinsville, VA. She and Billy raised six wonderful children and loved each one dearly. Her home was the center of family and friends, especially at holiday gatherings. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandkids. She had many great friends at the West Texas Aphasia Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband Billy Gene Marlowe, daughter Sandra Gilson, brother Kenneth Williams, and parents Kinnie Eli and Lucy Ellen Williams.

Dottie is survived by her daughters: Cheryl Mertz and husband Wade, Regina Sanders and husband Roy and Billie Lopez and husband Russ; sons: Steve Marlowe and wife Monica and Brian Marlowe and wife Tonya; son-in-law, John Gilson; sisters: Lucille Williams and Arlene Evans and husband Burt; brothers: Vernon Williams and wife Linda, and Jack Williams. She also leaves behind six granddaughters, eleven grandsons, and ten great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2011 between the hours of 6-8pm at Ellis Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled at 11:00am on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Randall McDonald officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
