Edith L. Shields, 87 of Midland, Texas passed away December 7, 2012 surround by her loving family and friends. Edith better known to many as "Nana" was born in Loraine, Texas to Oren and Claudia (McGowan) Coon on May 18, 1925. She Married William J. Shields on July 7, 1943, they welcomed two children, Albert Lynn Shields and Deborah J. Parum.
Nana was preceded in death by the love of her life William J. Shields in 1993 and by her son Albert L. Shields in 2007.
She is survived by her daughter: Deborah J. Parum; two granddaughters: Rebecca D. Orchard and Susan L. Shields. Nana also leaves behind her six great grandchildren: Kesha L. Copeland, Keelen K. Copeland, Katelyn L. Copeland, Krysta D. Copeland, Madison L. Henson, Ali M. Henson, and a great great grandson: David Lee Self III.
A visitation will be held Friday December 14, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Brother Bob Porterfield will be officiating the graveside service Saturday December 15, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Park at 2:00 P.M.
