

She was born in Mountainair, NM on September 12, 1925 to Carter and Minnianne Shaw.
When she was a young girl, they moved to Slaton, Texas, where she graduated high school. She then went on to graduate from Texas Tech with a degree in Home Economics. While she was attending Texas Tech, she met the love of her life, Daniel Garner, and they married on November 29, 1947 in Slaton, Texas.
Elizabeth worked several jobs throughout her life, but the one she enjoyed the most and excelled at was being a great wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was always active in the lives of her family. She seldom missed any activity that they were involved in from boy & girl scouts, sports, FFA, to school and church activities. She loved the family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving when all her children were there.
She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel, a son Robert Andrew, her parents, a sister Fannie Lou and several of her in-laws.
She is survived by 8 children: David Garner (Sheryl) of Westminster, Co; Roger Garner (Joanna) of Lubbock; Kathy Guzman (Tony Hughes) of San Antonio; James Garner (Lillie), Betty Bradley (Jerry), Joe Paul Garner (Linda), Jane Ann Smith (Michael), and Charles Garner , all of Midland; 13 grandchildren: Danny Garner (Brandy) of Salt Lake City, UT; Jason Garner (Stephanie) and Zachary Garner of Westminster, CO; Melody Bills (Cory) of Lubbock; Tiffany Garner and Rob Garner of Austin; Tiana Ortega (Marco) and Tessa Aguilar (Ruben) of San Antonio; Ethan Smith of Craig, CO; Karenan Bradley, Elizabeth Ellerbe (Daniel), Ryan Smith and Will Garner, all of Midland, and 17 great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Halle Jo and David Garner of Salt Lake City , UT; Zeb & Zoey Garner of Westminster, CO; Meaghan Peck (Cody) and Matt Bills of Lubbock; and Morghan Bills, Wesley Hoban, Brody & Cooper Garner of Austin; Marissa Guzman and Noah Aguilar of San Antonio; Ayana, Reyna, Holt Smith and Fayth Ellerbe of Midland. She is also survived by her sister Sara Ann Bell of Lovington, NM, brother and sister-in-laws, Albert & Anne Garner of Gladewater, Joyce Wendt of Bay City, Aileen Garner of Carrollton; and Mary Sue Garner of Abilene and numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 19th from 6 -8 pm at Ellis Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 20th at 11 am, with Brother Rick Holeman of Cotton Flat Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
