Ethel Christene Smith Waddill

Christene was born in Midland County on September 11, 1925. She completed school through the 11th grade in Brownfield, Texas. Christene and Forrest Waddill were married on April 3, 1980. Christene worked for The Midland Independent School District as a Cook for 20 years. She enjoyed traveling and camping across the United States with her husband Forrest in their Recreational Vehicle.

Christene was preceded in death by her first husband Delbert Dale Riggs, Mother, Barnie Mae Smith, Father, Reeves B. Smith, Brother, Calvin Smith and Granddaughter, Shelly Moton.

Christene is Survived by husband Forrest Waddill of Midland, Texas; sisters, Patty Anderson and Dorothy McQuerry of Midland, Texas; son, Dale E. Riggs and spouse Janie of Midland, Texas; daughters, Connie E. Flewellyn of Lubbock, Texas, Anita Y. Starritt and spouse Billy of Azle, Texas; two stepdaughters Sharon Sanchez of Magnolia, Texas and Lisa Ledbetter and spouse Ron of Pasadena, Texas. Fourteen Grand Children, thirty-nine great grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren and many Family and friends.

Visitation will be at Ellis Funeral Home 801 Andrews Hwy., Midland, Texas Tuesday June 24, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at Resthaven Cemetery 4616 N. Big Springs, Midland, Texas on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with Mike Vestal officiating.
