So sorry to hear this.. I only got to meet him a couple of times, the thing I remember most is he was always smilling.

I had the pleasure of having Deon as a Ground Flight Instructor at Midland College. His knowledge of aviation and his desire to help the students was truly appreciated by all. He will be missed.

What a wonderful caring and giving man.
My prayers and thoughts are with you, Diana, and the rest of the family. I wish you two would have had more time in Deon's retirement. Cherish the memories.
I am so very sorry for his untimely death.
My prayers continue for you in the days ahead.

Deon was my instrument flight instructor and friend. He had so many fine qualities but I particularly admired his special teaching abilities, his abundance of patience, and his way of inspiring me to always do better and learn more. Deon was a kind and gentle man with a quick smile and sharp wit. Like so many others, I will truly miss him and his friendship.

I knew Deon only briefly through the generous donation of his time at Recording Library of West Texas. He was a valued volunteer and we all looked forward to having him with us for many years to come. His smiling, gentle presence is greatly missed.

My sincere condolences to his loved ones.

I have known Deon for quite some time - I taught him his Concealed Handgun License class - he was a dear friend - and he will be missed

I worked with Deon at MC, I seen Deon around town a while back in passing so I didn't stop him to say hi, now I wished I did. We are truly sorry for your great loss, he was a precious person.

We are at a loss to say what the loss of Deon means to us. He was a dear friend and the best flight instructor on the planet. He showed so many kids the joy of flight, a few in our aircraft which was an honor! He was a gentle soul who delighted in sharing the joy of flight and of life with others. He cannot be replaced, only celebrated. He was a joy to know, and he always had something new and important to teach. Now he has slipped the surly bonds of earth... Godspeed my friend.
