

On the afternoon of Monday, April 4, 2016, Toby passed away peacefully of natural causes in his home. Toby was surrounded and comforted while being attended by his wife, family and church members at the time of his passing.
Frank (Toby) Turney, 94 years old, was born in Quanah, Texas on July 4, 1921. He was the sixth and last child of Elsa Mae Brockman and Christopher Lawrence Turney. Frank was preceded in death by his siblings.
Toby married Hazel Marie Shults in Lamesa, Texas on April 7, 1943. They were happily married for 73 years. Toby and Marie have two children, Frank Duane Turney (spouse Elaine), living in Newport Beach, CA and Hazel Dolores Ezell, living in Midland. Toby and Marie have five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Toby Turney entered active service into the United States Army on September 12, 1942, served as military occupational specialist Guard Patrolman and received an Honorable Discharge with a certificate awarded for honest and faithful service to his country.
Toby lived in Midland, Texas with his family for the past 65 years. He worked as a sheet metal and air condition specialist during this period until his retirement.
Family and friend visitation will be at Ellis Funeral Home on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. A funeral service celebrating Toby’s life will be held at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 9th at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Services will by presided over by Reverend Myron Unruh, retired minister of Belview Baptist Church where Toby was a member and dedicated his life to the Lord.
Pallbearers will be: grandchildren, L.T. Ezell, Shea Turney, Duane Ezell, and Alex Turney; great grandchildren Cody Ezell and David Ezell. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Christian Cox, Jeffrey Turney and Hunter DeAguero. Other grandchildren include Shanna Cox and great grandchildren Hannah Ezell, Katelynn Ezell and Cassy Ezell and Saige Turney.
