

Fred Edgar Dumas, 95, of Midland, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Fred was born in Rogilloville, Louisiana, on February 23, 1930. He graduated from Alpine High School in 1948. After high school, he joined the US Navy and served his country in Korea from 1948 to 1951. He attended Sul Ross University and graduated with a degree in geology. He married Belva Jean Eoff (Bobbye) on January 24, 1953. They were married for 67 years. He worked as a geologist in New Mexico and Texas until his retirement.
Fred was very active in the Midland Tennis Association and the Midland Senior Center, where he enjoyed playing pool. He loved his music and guitar. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church since 1968. Fred was an avid fan of the Midland Rebels, never missing a game, and when unable to attend, he streamed games every Friday night. He was also a huge fan of the Texas Rangers baseball team.
Survivors include three children: Karen and Brad Winchester of Graham, Texas; James and Laura Dumas of Midland, Texas; and Donna and Bob Fox of Granbury, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. at Ellis Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Midland Senior Center.
